Online courses may promote faculty innovation by requiring professors to develop new course materials that function well in an online environment. Distance education someday may replace high-priced course textbooks, as many books are now published digitally either on Kindle or in Google Books. If you so choose, online education gives you the opportunity to take difficult courses that won't show up on your transcript. Alternatively, you may be able to complete online credits for a grade. Advanced Placement exams (AP Exams) are offered in a variety of subjects, offering college credit for classes that you've taken. Test yourself with free practice exams, before visiting the official College Board website to register. If you earn a score of 3 or higher on an AP subject exam, you may be granted advanced placement in college.

Community College of Philadelphia hematology program
The best college for a given student isn't necessarily the highest-ranking school in the Forbes rankings, but rather the college that offers their students the best career chances after graduation. If you can pass the rigorous training program, nursing jobs are increasingly available, due to the aging US population, as well as the proliferation of healthcare services. Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics care for the sick or injured in emergency situations. EMTs and paramedics respond to emergency calls via the 911 switchboard, performing life-saving medical services, and transporting patients to the emergency room. Registered nurses (RN), and licensed vocational nurses (LVN), provide patient care and emotional support. Diagnostic medical sonographers use ultrasound imaging equipment that directs sound waves into a patient’s body in order to diagnose medical conditions.

Research various nursing degree programs that meet your requirements. The CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) is the first step in becoming a nurse. Most CNA programs can be completed within a few months, allowing you to begin working immediately. The next step after the CNA degree is to become an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or LVN ( Licensed Vocational Nurse). This is a one year long program, in which you'll work under an RN, and be assigned advanced care work. A 4-year BSN program allows students to study specialized areas of nursing, including pediatrics, geriatrics and mental health nursing. Students may also study allied health topics through elective courses. An RN has to cope with more responsibility, and oversees the work of LPNs and CNAs under their supervision. Please check with your state board of nursing for practical details and specific exams that you must pass in order to become board certified.
